Born and raised in Spain, Dr. Erik Montesinos is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with more than 20 years of experience in advanced joint and sports surgery. After obtaining his medical degree in Valencia and completing his specialist training in orthopedic surgery at La Fe University Hospital, he continued his academic career with a PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, graduating Summa Cum Laude. His international training also includes certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates in the United States.
Dr. Montesinos moved to Switzerland in 2012 and currently runs a successful private practice at two locations: Agoriaz Orthopedic Center in Riaz, in the canton of Fribourg, and Clinique CIC Riviera in Montreux, in the canton of Vaud. At both institutions, he provides state-of-the-art orthopedic and surgical care.

His research has received an award from the Spanish Society for Research in Orthopedic Surgery, INVESCOT, and is regularly presented at major orthopedic congresses and featured in scientific publications.
He is fluent in Spanish, French, and English and has a conversational command of Italian.
