Orthopaedic surgery in Switzerland in Riaz and Montreux

Do I need a prescription to book a consultation?

No. In Switzerland, you can consult an orthopaedic specialist directly, without a prior prescription. Simply bring your imaging tests if you have any (X-ray, MRI).

In which languages are consultations held?

Dr Montesinos consults in French, English, Spanish and Italian. No interpreter is needed, he speaks to you directly in your language.

Are consultations covered by health insurance?

ArthroCentre works with the main Swiss insurers. We advise you to check your coverage with your health insurance fund before the consultation. Contact us if you have any questions.

What is Dr med Erik Montesinos’ training?

Graduated from the University of Valencia, specialized at La Fe University Hospital, doctorate Summa Cum Laude at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. ECFMG certified (United States). In Switzerland since 2012.

Does Dr Montesinos have scientific publications?

Yes. Dr Montesinos is an active researcher with publications on patellofemoral instability and biomechanics. Recipient of distinctions from the Spanish Society for Research in Orthopaedic Surgery (INVESCOT).

What conditions do you treat?

Knee surgery (osteoarthritis, ACL, meniscus, patella), shoulder surgery (rotator cuff, instability, osteoarthritis) and ankle surgery (chronic instability, cartilage, tendons). Minimally invasive techniques and joint replacements according to your situation.

What is ArthroCentre?

ArthroCentre is a private orthopaedic clinic in Switzerland, led by Dr med Erik Montesinos. With practices in Riaz (Fribourg) and Montreux (Vaud), we offer specialized care in knee, shoulder and ankle surgery in French, English, Spanish and Italian.

Where are the practices located?

Dr Montesinos sees patients at two centres; you can check their location and opening hours in Locations. You can also book an appointment by phone, via the website or by email.

Do you offer postoperative follow-up?

Yes. We provide rigorous postoperative follow-up, coordinated with your general practitioner and your physiotherapist. We remain available at every stage of your recovery.

What surgical techniques are used?

Advanced arthroscopy (minimally invasive), corrective osteotomies, ligament and tendon reconstruction, partial and total knee, shoulder and ankle replacements. The technique is always chosen according to your personal situation.
